Organic Futon

Most of us are thinking of comfort and cost when we shop for a mattress.  Rarely are we thinking of exactly how the mattress was manufactured or what type of material was used to create it.  An Organic Futon may be manufactured with organic cotton, hemp or an all natural form of foam rubber or 100% pure wool.  Futons can be very beneficial if space is limited and there are many Futon options and choices available. Consider the benefits of an Organic Futon while you are deciding what type of Futon to purchase.

Cotton grown in industrialized countries is most often treated with chemicals to control plant growth, fight pests or fertilize the crop.   The cotton plants then absorb these poisons through their leaves while also soaking them in from the contaminated soil ensuring the entire plant will be infused with toxins. Conventional cotton production of non-organic cotton uses more chemicals per unit area than any other crop.  The chemicals used in this method of production pollute the air and surface waters.  The cotton used in Organic Futons is manufactured with organic cotton that has not been subjected to being sprayed with a flame retardant.  The organic cotton is grown without herbicides, pesticides and defoliants.

What does all of this mean to you?  Not only are Organic Futons comfortable but they can provide you with comfort knowing that you are not breathing in or lying on carcinogenic chemicals.  Synthetic foams used in most Futons can emit toxic gasses into your sleeping environment. Studies indicate that sleeping on synthetic foams can have a significant impact on your immune system while also aggravating allergic reactions.

This is not a problem with the natural foam used in Organic Futon.  If you or any of your family suffers from chemical sensitivity and allergies then why not sleep on an Organic Futon?

If ecology is your concern then an Organic Futon made with Hemp will provide you with peace of mind.  Hemp is more ecological than cotton as it requires a lot less water and land to grow.  Hemp fiber is also stronger than cotton.  The natural bedding materials of hemp and organic cotton are breathable.  The air will always circulate freely while keeping you toasty on a chilly night and cool on warmer nights.

Not only are Futons comfortable, the use of an Organic Futon in your home can go a long way in supporting your good health and maintaining your home as a safe haven.
